Our "Hazel" is portrayed by Danelle Belt in this short film biopic. She is a Jamaican-born immigrant with Trinidadian parentage. Danelle is an accomplished pianist, composer, and SAG actress.
A film about Hazel Scott has yet to be created.
Not only was Hazel Scott a movie star, jazz singer and pianist, she also starred in her own self-titled television show.
Long before there was Oprah, there was Miss Hazel Scott.
Hazel also married the 1st African-American Congressman, Adam Clayton Powell Jr.
